ComfyUI Developer / AI Pipeline Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a ComfyUI Developer who can build, customize, and optimize AI-driven visual workflows, while acting as a technical bridge between our AI/R&D team and our Production Pipeline team. This role sits at the intersection of AI experimentation and production-ready pipeline integration you'll take AI capabilities and turn them into reliable, scalable tools that artists and pipeline TDs can actually use day-to-day.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ComfyUI workflows for image/video generation tasks tailored to production needs.
• Develop and integrate custom ComfyUI nodes using Python to extend functionality beyond out-of-the-box capabilities.
• Act as the bridge between the AI team and Pipeline team translating AI/ML capabilities into practical, production-ready tools and workflows.
• Collaborate with the AI team to understand model capabilities (Stable Diffusion, ControlNet, LoRA, etc.) and translate them into usable ComfyUI pipelines.
• Work with the Pipeline team to ensure workflows integrate smoothly with existing production tools, asset management, and file structures.
• Troubleshoot and debug workflow issues, node errors, and performance bottlenecks in ComfyUI setups.
• Optimize workflows for speed, stability, and repeatability across multiple shots/projects.
• Document workflows, custom nodes, and processes clearly so they can be used and maintained by others.
• Stay current with the fast-evolving ComfyUI/AI ecosystem and proactively suggest improvements or new tools/techniques.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with ComfyUI building and customizing workflows in a real production or project setting.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including experience writing custom nodes/scripts.
• Solid understanding of AI image/video generation concepts (diffusion models, conditioning, sampling, etc.).
• Ability to debug and resolve technical issues independently.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable working across both AI/technical teams and production/pipeline teams.
• Ability to document workflows and processes clearly for non-AI-specialist team members.

Good to Have (Not Mandatory)

• Familiarity with production pipeline concepts (asset management, file structures, version control).
• Experience working in a VFX, animation, or content production environment.
• Exposure to related AI tools/frameworks beyond ComfyUI.
