Job description
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Generalist with strong experience in the retail industry, with a major focus on HR Compliance and Statutory Operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on exposure across Labor Law Compliance, Retail HR Operations, Employee Lifecycle Management, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Engagement. This role requires someone who is proactive, process-driven, and capable of managing compliance requirements for both corporate and retail workforce while ensuring smooth HR operations and adherence to statutory norms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance & Statutory Requirements:
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and statutory compliances across retail and corporate operations.
- Handle compliance related to PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Shops & Establishment, Minimum Wages, Bonus, and other applicable labor laws.
- Coordinate and maintain statutory registers, records, and documentation.
- Liaise with external consultants, auditors, and government authorities for compliance-related matters.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of compliance observations.
- Monitor vendor and manpower compliance documentation for retail stores and operations.
- HR Operations:
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
- Manage attendance, leave records, employee letters, and HR databases.
- Coordinate employee confirmations, exits, and full & final settlements.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day HR operational activities and policy adherence across locations.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding:
- Handle end-to-end recruitment for retail and corporate hiring mandates.
- Coordinate interviews, offer rollouts, and joining formalities.
- Manage employee onboarding, documentation, and induction processes.
- Ensure smooth joining experience and employee integration.
- Employee Engagement:
- Support employee engagement initiatives and retention activities.
- Address employee queries and maintain healthy employee relations.
- Coordinate training, induction, and culture-building initiatives.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- 5–7 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in retail/fashion/lifestyle industry.
- Strong understanding of labor laws, statutory compliances, and retail HR operations.
- Hands-on experience in handling compliance audits and statutory documentation.
- Exposure to retail hiring and employee lifecycle management.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Qualification:
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or relevant qualification preferred.
